“Rebuild” ZW Patchwork Shell Jacket in the "RE: DESCENTE ※1 Build series ※2. ZW stands for Zero Waste, a proprietary pattern technology developed by DISC ※ 3. This patchwork method greatly reduces the amount of fabric remnants produced in the cutting process. Inside the jacket, lightweight, waterproof KAMITO+ LINER fabric is used, and the external patches are connected with waterproof tape. The jacket is ideal for outdoor activities and winter sports, with useful specifications including a storage pocket in the side ventilation. The laser-cut edges soften and mellow with age, giving it a vintage appearance. Destined to become a long-term favorite.
※1 RE: DESCENTE PROJECT is a corporate social responsibility program in sustainability with a focus on environmental conservation. Our aim is to work towards creating, for the children who will shape the future, a society with less impact on the global environment.
※2 The RE: DESCENTE BUILD series is one that reuses and reconstructs resources to give them new life and new value.
In our factory, there are often remnant fabrics and products that, for various reasons, are never delivered to our customers. Rebuilding them using the power of our accumulated craftsmanship gives added value,, and at the same time reduces the burden on the environment and enables us to offer new and sustainable clothing.
※3 DISC is Descente's R & D hub – the DESCENTE INNOVATION STUDIO COMPLEX. Based on the concept of "creating the fastest clothing in the world", our aim is to produce higher-performance, higher-quality products in our constant pursuit of both competitive speed and pioneering development.
The RE: DESCENTE BUILD Series was created specifically to utilize fabric waste generated in garment manufacturing as much as possible, reconstructing the saved resources with new value as saleable garments.
Innovative new pattern technology enables the manufacture of products with an improved marking rate (efficient pattern placement that minimizes fabric wastage). It was developed at our R&D base, DISC OSAKA (DESCENTE INNOVATION STUDIO COMPLEX).
Even so, in our factories, we do end up with fabric remnants and some finished products that, for a variety of reasons, could not be delivered to customers. By using our accumulated craftsmanship to add new value to such otherwise wasted resources, we aim to lighten the environmental burden and give them a useful life as new garments.
