RE: DESCENTE SEED.
The RE: DESCENTE SEED series uses mainly functional, naturally derived materials – with biodegradability the keyword for all of them. And not only for the fabrics. We are very particular in selecting associated trim materials that are also biodegradable. The focus of the whole series is to express both care for the environment as well as natural comfort.
KAMITO+ is a fabric whose main raw material is the same natural fibre used in traditional Japanese paper (Washi). Washi is made mainly from thinned wood from coniferous trees and Manila hemp, grown with relatively fewer pesticides. The material is environmentally friendly even in the manufacturing process, and is characterized by the unique texture and touch of Japanese paper. The raw material in KAMITO+ has a natural deodorant property and can suppress the smell of sweat (ammonia, acetic acid and isovaleric acid). Because it is not chemically processed, the deodorant effect also continues even after washing.
The fabrics in our SEED series utilize biodegradable wood pulp-based paper yarn* similar to that used in traditional Japanese hand-made paper (Washi). In addition, we are carefully selecting biodegradable materials for all garment labels, buttons, sewing threads and bonding materials. A SEED 100 hang tag is attached to garments where all, or almost all, materials are biodegradable, but in cases where existing technology or functional requirements do not permit 100% use of biodegradable materials, a SEED 50 hang tag is used. We are continuing to work towards the goal of achieving the SEED 100 standard for all products.
